iStock-1270412448What's happening this week in workers' compensation? IWP's weekly legislative wrap-up, State of the States, keeps you up to date on important matters within the workers' compensation and pharmacy arena.

This week's legislative wrap-up contains updates from Colorado, Florida, Illinois & Maryland along with National news.

  • In Colorado, lawmakers are considering a change to injury reporting requirements in the state.
  • Florida Statehouse leaders may alter the state’s current PTSD /Mental Health presumption to allow more time for claim eligibility. 
  • Illinois is looking to amend current pharmacy statutes to include all prescriptions be monitored by the state’s prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP). 
  • In Maryland, plans are in place to amend the state’s current PTSD/Mental Health presumption to include 911 specialists. 
  • On the National level, a recent whitepaper shows that 2020 recorded an incident rate of 429 serious workplace injuries and fatalities (SIF) incidents per 100,000 workers compared to a rate of 366 events per 100,000 workers in 2019 and a rate of 406 in 2018.
