Meet Michael Gilbert. Michael has been with IWP for just over 3 years and is currently a Litigated Claims Specialist. Litigated Claims Specialists are an integral part of IWP as they help keep patients and their law firm aware of the status of a disputed claim. Michael ensures that the patient and their associated law firm are informed of any insurance-related denial and work towards a resolution.

Keep reading to learn a little more about Michael and the great work he does here at IWP!

Michael, you have worked at IWP for over 3 years! What would you say is the most rewarding part of your job?

I enjoy that we are helping people obtain the medication that they need to recover for their injuries.

How have our patients impacted your role here at IWP?

The meaningful conversations I have with patients and they gratitude they have for IWP, keeps me focused on how much of an impact IWP has on people who are experiencing a hardship.

A large part of your role is working with the patient’s law firms on their behalf. Can you tell me about a time when you felt most fulfilled by your role?

Whenever I speak with a patient or a law firm and they tell me that IWP was a vital part of their claim, and that IWP helped them recover I feel very fulfilled. It’s great to hear how much of an impact my team and I can have on injured workers.

What would you say sets IWP apart from other pharmacies?

IWP can explain the difficult processes of the workers’ comp system to the patient in an easy, approachable manner unlike other pharmacies.

Outside of work, what personal accomplishment are you most proud of?

Earning my college degree and serving my country. I was an active member of the Army for 4 years.

I also feel very blessed to have an amazing son who thinks I am a superhero and part of the Avengers.

Lastly, if you could have any other profession what would it be?

I would love to be either a movie actor or a comedian!
