Drug formularies are not a new concept in workers' compensation. As states, like Texas and Tennessee, use drug formularies to control costs and utilization New York took notice. In June 2019, a workers' compensation drug formulary was adopted by the New York Workers' Compensation Board (WCB). Unlike some of its predecessors, New York's drug formulary is more nuanced and completely unique to the state.

ATTENTION: The New York Workers Compensation Board (NYWC) has delayed the requirement for refills/renewal formulary compliance, previously slated for June 7, 2021. The NY WC Board now projects these changes to become effective on March 7, 2022. IWP will update this webinar as more information becomes available.
