What's happening this week in workers' compensation? IWP's weekly legislative wrap-up, State of the States, keeps you up to date on important matters within the workers' compensation and pharmacy arena.

This week's legislative wrap-up contains updates including:


  • In Texas, a study conducted by the Texas Department of Insurance found that between 2007 and 2017, the number of injured workers returning to their jobs within six months rose by 5%

  • Alabama is thinking about expanded mental health benefits for first responders, which would allow them to file workers’ compensation claims for mental illness even if there’s no accompanying physical injury

  • The Governor of Washington announced the state's intention to provide workers' compensation benefits and other protections to first responders and health care workers who are quarantined because of the Coronavirus
