What's happening this week in workers' compensation? IWP's weekly legislative wrap-up, State of the States, keeps you up to date on important matters within the workers' compensation and pharmacy arena.

This week's legislative wrap-up contains updates including:

  • Colorado Governor Jared Polis signed a law that allows first responders to qualify for workers' compensation coverage if they experience audible trauma.
  • As of the beginning of July, insurers and employers in Virginia are required to respond to workers' compensation claims with denials or requests for information within 30 days.
  • According to a report issued by the New York Compensation Insurance Rating Board, the impact of COVID-19 to the state's workers' compensation system is lower than predicted.
