Electronic Prescribing

Electronic prescribing, or E-prescribe, has become one of the most popular trends throughout the country. Each year, more and more states have moved to E-prescribe as a way to combat drug diversion, reduce prescription errors, and eliminate doctor shopping. See which states have passed legislation for this prescribing method.

First Responder Coverage

First responders, like firefighters, EMTs, and police officers, have been the focus of much legislation after violent workplace attacks and cancer diagnosis have increased over the last few years. Now, states are turning their efforts onto ways to improve the workers’ comp system to better protect those who protect us.

Drug Formularies

As an answer to control costs and decrease the use of specific drugs, like opioids, some states have turned to the implementation of a workers’ comp drug formulary. States like California, Texas, and Ohio are among those that mandate prescribers and pharmacists to follow specific medication guidelines.
