• Summit announced the expansion of its workers' compensation insurance operations into Maryland and Washington, D.C. The company stated that its managed carriers, Bridgefield Casualty Insurance Company®, Bridgefield Employers Insurance Company®, and Bridgefield Indemnity Insurance Company®, received regulatory approval to offer coverage in both jurisdictions. According to the announcement, independent insurance agents can now submit quote requests for Maryland and Washington, D.C. policies. Summit said the expansion extends its workers' compensation coverage offerings to employers in the two markets.

Rising Medical Solutions released its 13th annual Workers’ Compensation Benchmarking Study Report analyzing why claims organizations with similar priorities often achieve very different results. Based on a nationwide survey of claims leaders, the report found that higher-performing organizations distinguish themselves not by what they prioritize, but by how effectively they execute those priorities, even while managing more complex claim inventories. The study identified four key traits shared by top performers: they make better data-driven decisions, reduce operational friction, drive stronger adoption of new initiatives, and invest in workforce development and organizational capabilities. Overall, the findings suggest that aligning people, processes, technology, and culture creates a cumulative advantage that leads to faster claim closures and stronger organizational performance.
